Laura Busetta

Laura Busetta è Assegnista di ricerca presso l’Università di Messina nell’ambito del progetto PRIN Il pollo ruspante. Il cinema e la nuova cultura dei consumi (1950-1973). È stata Assegnista di ricerca all’interno del PRIN Comizi d’amore. Il cinema e la questione sessuale in Italia (1948-1978), visitingscholar alla University College Cork (Irlanda) e alla NYU Tisch School of the Arts, e guest lecturer presso il dipartimento di Film del BirkbeckInstitute for the Moving Image (Londra).Redattrice della rivista L’Avventura e membro del comitato di direzione di Mantichora. Italian Journal of Performance Studies, ha pubblicato saggi in volumi e riviste nazionali e internazionali. I suoi interessi includono la storia del cinema italiano, le forme mediali dell’autorappresentazione, gli studi culturali e di genere. È autrice di L’autoritratto. Cinema e configurazione della soggettività (Mimesis, 2019) e co-curatrice (con M. Tinel-Temple e M. Monteiro) di From Self-portrait to Selfie: Representing the Self in the Moving Image (Peter Lang, 2019).

Laura Busetta is a Post-doctoral Researcher in Cinema at the University of Messina, within the PRIN project Free Range Chicken. Cinema and the New Culture of Consumption in Italy (1950-1973). She completed a Post-doctoral Fellowship under the PRIN project entitledLove meetingsCinema and the issue of Sex in Italy (1948-1978). She has been a Visiting Scholar at University College Cork (Ireland) and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, and guest lecturer at the Film department of the Birkbeck Institute for the Moving Image (London). Editor of the magazine L’Avventura and member of the Board committee of Mantichora. Italian Journal of Performance Studies, she has published essays in national and international journals and volumes. Her research interests include the history of Italian cinema, the issue of self-representation in Visual Culture, Cultural and Gender Studies. She is the author of L’autoritratto. Cinema e configurazionedellasoggettività (Mimesis, 2019), and co-curator (with M. Tinel-Temple and M. Monteiro) of From Self-portrait to Selfie: Representing the Self in the Moving Image (Peter Lang, 2019).
