Linda Bertelli è professoressa associata in Estetica presso la Scuola IMT Alti Studi Lucca. Le sue ricerche riguardano la teoria dell’immagine, la storia della fotografia tra Ottocento e Novecento e la storia dei movimenti femministi in Italia nella seconda metà del Novecento. Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca in Discipline Filosofiche presso l’Università di Pisa ed è stata Marianne DiPalermo McCauley Visiting Scholar presso il John D. Calandra Italian American Institute della City University of New York (USA) e Visiting Scholar presso il Centro di Ricerca ASK dell’Università Bocconi di Milano. Attualmente dirige un progetto di ricerca regionale biennale sulle collezioni fotografiche della città di Lucca (2022-2024). Ha presentato le sue ricerche sia in Italia sia all’estero in numerose conferenze, seminari e lezioni. Oltre ai due libri sulla teoria dell’immagine e della rappresentazione di Henri Bergson (2014) e sull’estetica di Ernst Bloch (2018), ha pubblicato saggi su Étienne-Jules Marey e la cronofotografia, sulla storia e teoria della fotografia, sull’opera della teorica femminista italiana Carla Lonzi e sulle teorie estetiche femministe.

Linda Bertelli is an associate professor in Aesthetics at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. Her research concerns the theory of the image, the history of photography between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and the history of feminist movements in Italy in the second half of the twentieth century. She got her Ph.D. in Philosophy at the University of Pisa (Italy) and has been Marianne DiPalermo McCauley Visiting Scholar at the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute of the City University of New York (USA) and, more recently, at the research center ASK, Bocconi University (Milan). She is currently the PI of a two-year regional research project on the city of Lucca’s photographic collections. She has presented her research at conferences, seminars, and lectures held in Italy and abroad. In addition to the two books on Henri Bergson’s theory of image and representation (2014) and Ernst Bloch’s aesthetics (2018), she has published essays on Étienne-Jules Marey and chronophotography, on the work of the Italian feminist theorist Carla Lonzi, and feminist aesthetics.
