Laureato in Filosofia del Diritto, si occupa di teatro dal 1988 come critico e studioso. Dal 2021 è Dramaturg del Teatro nazionale di Genova. Ha collaborato con diverse testate nazionali, online, cartacee, radio e tv, tra cui L’Espresso, glistatigenerali.com, antinomie.it, Che-fare.com, Lettre International e interviene come autore e conduttore su Radio3Rai. Ha curato laboratori di critica in vari Festival italiani e in particolare alla Biennale Teatro di Venezia, dal 2010 al 2016 e poi ancora nel 2021 e 2022. Si è dedicato alle teorie critiche applicate alla scena con il libro “Questo fantasma, il critico a teatro” (Titivillus editore). Cura la collana “Guide Teatrali” di Cue Press, con cui ha pubblicato il libro “Che c’è da guardare? La critica di fronte al teatro sociale d’arte” (2017) e il più recente “Altri corpi/nuove danze” (2019) dedicato alla interazione tra coreografia e disagio e “Un viaggio a Prato: laboratorio Gruppo di Lavoro Artistico” (2021) e “Progetto Incroci” (2022). Con Luca Sossella Editore ha dato alle stampe “Il respiro di Dioniso, il teatro di Theodoros Terzopoulos” (2020).

Andrea Porcheddu has worked as theater critic and journalist since 1988 and published various books in theory and history of theater. He is the Master for workshop of Theatre Critic at Venice La Biennale since 2008. He writes, among others, for the italian weekly magazine L’Espresso, the online newspaper glistatigenerali.com, for the German magazine Lettre International and he works frequently for the Italian national radio RaiRadio3's broadcasts. He’s member of the International Association of Theater Critics (AICT - IACT) and of the Italian Association of Theater Critics. He worked as artistic consultant in Bahrain for the National Theatre in 2012 and he has been a member of several juries in Italian and international Festivals - among them the international jury in Fadjr Festival in 2011 (IR); at the Mess International Festival in Sarajevo (BH) in 2007 and 2015.

He is currently Dramaturg in National Theatre of Genova.
