Camilla Balbi è dottoranda di ricerca in Visual and Media Studies all’Università IULM di Milano, e visiting scholar 2021/22 al Dipartimento di German Studies della New York University. Da sempre interessata alle intersezioni tra pratiche mediali e linguaggi artistici differenti, i suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano la teoria dell’arte e i curatorial studies. Accanto a questi interessi, oggetto della sua ricerca di dottorato, scrive e si occupa di culture visuali eccentriche, lavorando sulle specificità dello sguardo ebraico e di quello femminile e queer.

Camilla Balbi is a PhD candidate in Visual and Media Studies at IULM University in Milano, and a 2021/22 visiting scholar at the Department of German Studies of the New York University. Interested in the intersections between media practices and artistic languages, her main research interests are in art theory and curatorial studies. Alongside these interests, subject of her doctoral research, she writes and works on eccentric visual cultures, focusing on the specificities of the Jewish, female and queer gazes.
