Giovanna Faleschini Lerner

Giovanna Faleschini Lerner è docente di italianistica e dirige il programma in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies presso Franklin & Marshall College, in Pennsylvania (USA). È autrice della monografia The Painteras Writer: Carlo Levi’s Visual Poetics (Palgrave 2012) e curatrice, con Maria Elena D’Amelio, di Italian Motherhood on Screen (Palgrave 2017). Ha pubblicato numerosi articoli e saggi sulla relazione tra letteratura, cinema e arti visive, sulla letteratura femminile, e sul cinema italiano del ventesimo e ventunesimo secolo. Il suo progetto attuale esplora le rappresentazioni dell’esperienza femminile della migrazione nel cinema italiano contemporaneo.

Giovanna Faleschini Lerner is Professor of Italian Studies and Chair of the program in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Franklin & Marshall College, in Pennsylvania (USA). She is the author of The Painter as Writer: Carlo Levi’s Visual Poetics (Palgrave 2012), and the co-editor, with Maria Elena D’Amelio, of Italian Motherhood on Screen (Palgrave 2017). She has published numerous articles and essays on the relationship between literature, cinema, and the visual arts, women’s literature, and Italian twentieth and twenty-first century cinema. Her current book project explores representations of women’s experiences of migration in contemporary Italian film.
