Nicola Lucchi

Nicola Lucchi è dottorando in Italian Studies presso New York University. Sta lavorando a una dissertazione sull’impatto estetico, storico e culturale della fabbrica Fiat Lingotto nei decenni tra le due guerre mondiali. I suoi principali interessi di ricerca sono la letteratura e cultura visuale italiane del primo Novecento, e i rapporti tra arte italiana e politica, con particolare attenzione al ruolo giocato nel loro sviluppo da fascismo e antifascismo. Si occupa anche di problematiche legate alla traduzione di poesia e rima, e della rappresentazione dell’identità italiana negli Stati Uniti.

 

Nicola Lucchi is a Ph.D. candidate in Italian Studies at New York University. He is working on a dissertation that investigates the Fiat Lingotto automobile factory, together with its social, cultural and aesthetic resonances in interwar Italy. His research interests include early-20th century Italian literature and visual culture, the rapports between Italian art and politics, and particularly the role of fascism and anti-fascism in negotiating this relationship. He also has an interest in translation studies, particularly in regards to the issues raised by translating poetry and rhyme, and in the representations of Italian identity in the United States.
