Rossella Catanese
Rossella Catanese è assegnista di ricerca presso l’Università degli studi di Udine per il progetto europeo ViCTOR-E (Visual Culture of Trauma, Obliteration and Reconstruction in post-wwii Europe). È anche docente a contratto di ‘History of Italian Cinema’ presso NYU Florence. Precedentemente, ha insegnato alla Sapienza Università di Roma ed è stata assegnista presso IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. È stata inoltre visiting scholar presso il Keene State College (New Hampshire, US). Le sue pubblicazioni si concentrano sul restauro di film, le cineteche, la storia del cinema e l’avanguardia: tra le sue pubblicazioni, la monografia Lacune binarie. Il restauro dei film e le tecnologie digitali (Bulzoni, Roma 2013) e le curatele Futurist Cinema. Studies in Italian Avant-garde Film (Amsterdam University Press, Amsterdam 2018) e From Sensation to Synaesthesia in Film and New Media (Cambridge Scholars Publishing, Newcastle Upon Tyne 2019, con Francesca Scotto Lavina e Valentina Valente).

Previously, she has been adjunct professor at Sapienza University of Rome, and postdoc at IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca. Moreover, she has been visiting scholar at Keene State College (New Hampshire, US). Her publications focus on film restoration, cinematheques, film history, experimental film and avant-garde: among various articles and essays, her books include the monograph Lacune binarie.
